2008 Public Service Campaign- HOPES

For the past five years, Ad 2 Madison has worked together to create a fully integrated marketing campaign for a nonprofit in Dane County. This year, our team volunteered to develop an awareness campaign for HOPES (Helping Others Prevent and Educate about Suicide), an organization run entirely by survivors of suicide.

From the application and our interview with several HOPES board members, we quickly learned that HOPES is a hard-working organization very worthy of our help. The HOPES staff is completely volunteer-based; all members work full-time jobs and give what they can to HOPES in their time outside a 40-hour work week. They had no in-house marketing team, or anyone with marketing expertise. But what they lack in resources, they make up in passion.

They wanted our help in gaining more awareness from the general public, so that they can prevent suicides. Through all this, we determined our goals to be: 1) create a unified identity for HOPES; 2) create more awareness of the HOPES organization, which would in turn help to 3) educate others about the signs of suicide.
